Easter Sunday dawned bright and beautiful here after having a major snow storm just a few days previous. We must be in Utah in Spring! Spring in Utah is always a mixed bag - you just never know what weather surprise Mother Nature will have in store. Spring was always my mother's favorite time of year and although I love seeing all the flowers popping out and the grass greening up - knowing my mom isn't here any more has been very bittersweet. I have really been missing her a lot these last few days. I never knew how much grief can affect your life. There have been days when I was lucky to get out of bed. I used to be such a night owl. I really enjoyed the quiet after the kids went to bed. Now I want to go to sleep as soon as they do. I make myself stay up because if I don't take the puppy out he will wake us all up at 3 in the morning. The cute Easter dress Hannah is wearing was picked out for her by my mom before she passed away. I had a tough time keeping the tears from flowing while I helped her put it on. After church we had Lance's parents come over for Easter Sunday dinner and an Easter egg hunt in the back yard. The weather was perfect and the kids had so much fun.

Here is picture of our newest addition: Jax. He joined our family a couple of weeks ago and he has been a great distraction for me and the kids. I forgot how much work puppies are but he is a smart puppy and is learning quickly. We are crate training him so the potty training hasn't been too bad. He still has an accident here and there. He has learned to fetch and loves to play. He is also quite a snuggler when he is sleepy enough not to play. He is a handsome little guy and he knows it!
This week is spring break for us and since our tenative plan to go to St. George fell through I decided that we would try to do something fun each day. Yesterday we went to the zoo. We had a fun time hanging out in the sun with all the animals.
Yesterday Hannah, JJ and Lance also did an early morning segment on Channel 5 on hand washing. It was live tv at 6 am so all of us (except Asher) had to get up really early to get kids ready etc. It was a great experience for the kids and they got to have a tour of the newsroom. The anchor who did the segment with them is Tonya Pamponikolus (spelling?).
Today I took the kids to the Legacy Center to swim and then they got to play with their friends. We are supposed to have a major change in the weather tomorrow but hopefully it won't put too much of a kink in our plans.
