In January we had fun going to see Frozen in 3D with the Zellers. It was just the beginning of FrozenMania at our house. We listened to the soundtrack and sang along until we were all completely sick of the music.
We were thrilled to have Hannah be on the same team she had last time around with Teresa Gonzalez as her coach and lots of friends on her team. She learned some new skills and had another great start to the basketball season.
JJ also was able to get back on the same team and coach he had before. He had a great time shooting hoops with his friends.
As a 6th grader JJ was required to enter the science fair this year. He and his two friends Oakley and Josh decided to test the flammability of house hold liquids such as hair spray. Lance and Oakley's step dad helped them to do the experiment and I helped JJ make the poster and then remake it after their group got to go on to district (district had different rules on the size of the poster).
We hit the train show over at Thanksgiving point again this year. Kids love the LEGOs and I love the teeny tiny trains.
Lance and JJ went on the troop winter camp - up to Payne's cabin in Little Cottonwood canyon. They really roughed it - flat screen tv and all!
We had some of favorite people - the Zellers over for a late night playing the PU (Wii U, really).
Working this year as a recess lady has required me to be out in the weather a lot more than I would like. I am not a fan of ice, snow and cold wind. I am proud to say I toughed it out though.
Asher, Hannah and I decided to do dinner at Denny's while Lance and JJ were going to winter camp. These two are so silly together.
Libby doing her first selfie with my phone during one of Hannah and Regann's basketball games.
The sun came out once or twice enough for the kids to go outside and play a bit. This is some of Hannah's sidewalk artwork.
Hannah had some big reports due this month. One of which was her cereal box book report. We put a lot of time into it but I can say that except for a few parts like the crossword puzzle, she did it all herself. Thank goodness for my never ending supply of scrapbook paper and stickers - we didn't have to buy anything from the store to do this report.
Lance and I went on a date to Tuacanos in the river bottoms. I love the time we get to hang out, just us.
Even in cold weather Jax likes to be outside. He is pretty creative in finding warm places to sleep.
Hannah and Asher were dying to go swimming so off we went to the Legacy center for a bit of water time.
I don't really make breakfasts during school days (the kids get their own cereal, toast etc) but on holidays and weekends we pull out all the stops and make some of favorite things for breakfast like griddle cakes, biscuits and sausage, garbage pail potatoes, waffles and pancakes, omelets and scrambled eggs.
