JJ 2013-2014 School Year

The first day of 6th grade!
Hanging out with mom on a rainy cold recess.
Another great soccer year with the same team he has been on for the last few years.  Coach Nicholson is great and JJ has lots of good friends on the team.
JJ overcame his fear and went down one of the big slides at 7 Peaks.

JJ was a rock lobster in Alice in Wonderland at the Lehi Arts Center.

JJ learned some new self defense skills at in RADkids.

JJ decided he wanted to be a true NERD for Halloween this year!
Happy 12th birthday JJ!  He got a Samsung tablet!

Charlie gave Lance and JJ tickets to a BYU football game for JJ's birthday!

So proud of this boy for choosing to be ordained to the priesthood.  He is an awesome deacon!

We are incredibly grateful for the wonderful examples of righteous priesthood holders who have influenced JJ's life for good.

JJ got the role of Motel in the Lehi Arts Center's production of Fiddler on the Roof.  I think this was one of his best roles to date. He did extremely well and made some wonderful friends!

JJ's birthday party didn't happen until December for various reasons but it was a blast when it finally happened!

Kynlee's gift to JJ.  He LOVED it!

Video gaming sleepover for JJ's birthday party.  Kynlee didn't sleep over - just stayed till late.
6th Grade Battle of the Bands.  JJ made a pvc pan pipe.

Lehi Elementary's traditional Christmas Sing.

6th grade skit.  JJ is Santa.

6th graders were required to participate in the school Science Fair.  JJ's team experimented with household chemicals flammability.

6th grade Valentine's Dance almost didn't happen but Missy rescued it and it was fabulous fun!

JJ didn't want to shave his head for his role as Daddy Warbucks in Annie so we compromised and cut his hair pretty short.

Happy Valentine's day!

JJ and his new chick Link

JJ had mixed feelings about getting a lead role in the school production of Annie.  It was a LOT of work but he did a great job as Daddy Warbucks.  Now if only his mike had worked at least some of the time.

Because of his past experience in plays, JJ was very "professional" about interacting with the girl who played Annie.  She on the other hand was weird-ed out by having to dance with JJ, sit on his knee, hold his hand etc.
So glad that Kynlee was also in the play with JJ. It made it so much more fun for him.

This year JJ participated in the Battle for Book competition.  His team was beaten out by others but it was a fun experience. Lance was one of the judges.
JJ making a free throw in Church ball.  Mom wasn't too thrilled about our experience with Church basketball but Dad assured her that it was all part of growing up.

JJ worked on his photography merit badge for the BYU Pow Wow.  He did a series of photos to tell a story starring his sister, Hannah.
To save money for scout camp JJ sold our chicken's eggs.

JJ graduated from the NOVA program which educates kids about safety online, drugs and alcohol, bullying, gangs etc.  It was taught by Officer Bugden (the lady on the right).

This year's dance festival the 6th graders danced to High School Musical 2's "I Can't Dance"
One of the final projects of the year to be a Renaissance student was a social studies report.  JJ chose to compare and contrast Greek and Egyptian mythological characters.

Fun times for the 6th graders at their walking field trip to Jack and Jill's bowling alley.

Congrats to our 6th grade Graduate!

JJ got on the honor roll, was a renaissance student, and got an award for all his extra curricular activities.
