This month we adopted an easter egger chicken from some friends of ours who were moving to a place where they couldn't have chickens any more. Her name is Connie and she produced a couple of greenish eggs but hasn't layed any since. She took a while to get used to being with the other chickens and finding her place in the pecking order. She really hadn't been confined in her old home but our chickens spend most of their time in our fairly large run because Jax eats the chickens if he can catch them. She is best buds with our easter egger chick and they hang out feather to feather most of the time and at night they roost on the outside of the chicken house for some reason. Maybe they like to star gaze together, I don't know.
Hannah and Kynlee hanging out, being silly at the store while me and Missy shopped. Hannah LOVES Regann and Kynlee - they really are like sisters to her.
Typical Asher face - "don't bother me while I am eating to take a stupid picture". Subway is his favorite place to eat out.
This month I had to say so long to my good friend Leslie as she moved to Texas. I am happy for her to get a fresh start but I really miss her tons. To send her off in style we had dinner at The Harvest restaurant at Thanksgiving Point.
For spring break we visited Trafalga and I took the kids for their first time to Krispy Kreme. I think there was drool on that window.
I posted the video of Asher riding this ride already - it is pretty funny. He is happy at the first but starts crying on the first drop. I am proud of him for trying lots of new things this time. He did the rock climbing wall and the rocking boat too for the first time.
Hannah's a pro at the wall now and goes all the way to the top in a matter of minutes.
Roasted peep anyone? Not as tasty as one might think.
We love the warming up of the weather. About this time of year we are really ready for some outdoor time.
JJ did spring soccer again this year. He really has good friends on the team and an awesome coach. I appreciate the coach's philosophy that the boys learn the game and have fun. He doesn't scream at the kids or ever get ruffled when they make a mistake or play less than perfect. My hope for JJ is not that he is a star play but that he retains a love for physical activity that will continue on as he becomes and adult.
The school in partnership with the Lehi Police dept have a program called NOVA that is similar to RAD kids. Officer Bugden (the lady in the picture) teaches the kids about how to be good citizens, stay drug free and be good friends. It is a worthwhile program for the 6th graders. These photos are from the graduation from NOVA ceremony.
To save money for going to scout camp JJ sold our chickens eggs.
Hannah with Charmin. He rarely ever wanted to snuggle but when he did it was usually with Hannah. Sadly he died a couple of days after this pic was taken.
Hannah loves babies so much. Charlie called on night and said they were baby sitting Bridger and asked if we wanted to come and see him. We jumped all over that! He is just the snuggliest baby ever!
I was able to go with Hannah on her 4th grade field trip to the Natural History Museum. They had a special exhibit about chocolate - and we all know that I would wither and die with out a steady supply of chocolate!
I loved this group of kids!
All spiffed up in their Easter duds.
Also I have weird kids, very weird kids.
We went up to South Fork canyon for a picnic with Charlie, Mary Ellen, Brandon, and Grandma and Grandpa Madigan.
Easter Morning!
I am loving being able to baby sit Liberty now and then. She is so much fun!
Huh. I wonder whose stray foot that is? LOL!
