Pioneer day is always a fun day to relax and we usually invite neighbors and friends to bring their fireworks to add to ours for the Sidewalk of Fire. This year we had even more people than ever. The grands came, Charlie, Mary Ellen and Brandon, the Prices and some of their cousins, the Zellers, even Bro. Beckstrand from next door come for a bit. We shot off fireworks late into the night, enjoyed all kinds of yummy s'more creations around the fire pit and chatted.

Foam day 2014
Lehi city fire department puts on "Foam Day" every year in July. The section off parts of the sports complex grassy fields and spray down a layer of fire retardant foam. We came the first year they did it and there weren't too many people - it sure has changed! There were tons of people this year! We had to park quite a ways away and walk in. Even though the kids tried to stay together with the Zellers they all got a bit lost at one point or another - everybody looks pretty much the same when covered completely with white foam. We didn't end up staying too long. We could only stand so much of the crowds and it didn't take long with that many people for the foam to become foamy mud. Kinda gross! Carter inhaled some of the foam and that made him feel really sick. The first aid tent people said it would clear up in a matter of time but it left him feeling like he couldn't breathe.
Even after getting showered off in the hoses at Foam Day the kids still felt kinda itchy and prickly from the foam so we all headed to our house to have some lunch and let the kids play in the pool. It was really hot so splashing in the pool was just what was needed! Even Libby had fun!

High School Musical 2
JJ and Hannah participated in another Lehi Arts Council play - High School Musical 2. They had fun yet again. JJ got another large part - he played Fulton, the manager of the resort where the story takes place. This role required him to be droll and sarcastic. Ya he was meant to play that part. He had tons of lines to memorize which was stressful for me because it falls to me to prod him to practice his part. But in the end he did really well. Hannah didn't get the part of Sharpey that she was hoping for but was able to be a Sharpette. This fit her well too but she was sad that there were no lines for her to speak. She bucked up though and did a great job. Her body language and facial expressions are hilarious. She was a stuck up girl to a T!
